Looking for ways to reduce your waste and get into zero waste living? Try these great zero waste ideas from Beth Terry of My Plastic-Free Life.
I have been friends with Beth Terry for many years now. I started reading her blog My Plastic-Free Life when I was looking for ways to live a more eco-friendly and zero waste life.
She even included me in her book Plastic-Free: How I Kicked the Plastic Habit and How You Can Too. It’s a great book and I was honored to be included.
She also invited me to speak with her at an event about plastic here in Oklahoma. It was our first time meeting in person and we had a great time. It was also so kind of her to have me speak as well.
A few years ago she made this great video for me to share here about using less plastic when you are away from home. It’s packed full of great tips and tricks. Enjoy!
Zero Waste Living- Bring Your Own
These are some of the products that were mentioned in the video. They will help you use less plastic even when you aren't at home. Klean Kanteen stainless steel water bottles come in a lot of different styles, colors, and sizes. These stainless steel containers are great for meals on the go or takeout. Taking your own utensils with you seems like something very small but it can add up. Having a cloth napkin with you can be useful many times, not just when eating away from home. You don't want to get caught away from home without a reusable bag. You never know when you will need it. These from Flip and Tumble are great because they fold to a very small size.Must-Have Zero Waste Products

Be sure to check out Beth’s blog My Plastic-Free Life and her book Plastic Free. She shares so much great information about plastic and great alternatives to the plastic items in our lives.
Even if you aren’t wanting to live a zero-waste life, it’s not something I’ve been able to do so far, you will still get some great ideas from Beth. She has taught me so much.
Every little bit counts so don’t feel like you have to do it all, do what you can. My first step was switching to a reusable water bottle and then reusable grocery bags. It’s amazing how much plastic and waste you avoid with those two simple changes.
